842AR – Super Shield™ Silver Conductive Paint

This silver conductive paint for plastic consists of a 1-part, solvent-based acrylic lacquer, pigmented with highly conductive silver flake. It is smooth, hard, and abrasion resistant. It can be easily applied by brush or spray. It has a quick dry time, with no heat cure necessary. It adheres strongly to most injection-molded plastics, such as ABS, PVC, nylon and polycarbonate. It provides superior high frequency shielding, strong corrosion resistance, and is suitable for use in marine environments.

  • Provides superior EMI shielding
  • Excellent adhesion to plastics
  • Thin minimum layer height
  • Strong corrosion resistance
  • Mild solvent system, safe on polystyrenes
  • HAP free—does not contain toluene, xylene or MEK

842AR is used to shield plastic enclosures from EMI. It excels where the highest level of shielding is required. Also, its thin minimum layer dimension makes it suitable for post-soldering board-level applications. It is also excellent for prototyping and repairing electronic circuits, and as a conductive undercoat for electroplating plastic when a high level of conductivity is required.

This product is a liquid, but it is also available in aerosol and pen formats. We also offer a more cost-effective silver-coated copper version and a water-based version for use on wood or drywall, an epoxy version for use on metal or glass or when extreme durability is required, as well as versions that can survive wave-soldering for board level applications. Before applying this product to plastic, clean the surface with IPA.
