832WC – Clear Epoxy Resin for Electronics

832WC is a rigid, 2-part, clear epoxy resin system. Once cured, the epoxy offers extreme environmental and physical protection for printed circuit boards and electronics. The optically clear potting compound is completely colorless and is ideal for circuits that need constant monitoring. The epoxy is also popular for art projects such as river tables and casting.

The key features of the 832WC are its low viscosity, UV stability and clarity. The epoxy finds use in the lighting industry, helping protect outside lights without shifting clarity. The compound will not yellow despite long exposure to UV light, making it suitable for streetlights or home projects. When mixed, the liquid is thin and penetrates tight spaces ensuring full coverage of smaller parts.

  • Optically clear potting compound (can be used as a casting epoxy resin)
  • UV light stable (minimal yellowing)
  • Very low mixed viscosity of 980 cP
  • Convenient 2A:1B volume mix ratio
  • Excellent electrical insulating characteristics
  • Extremely high compressive and tensile strength
  • Good adhesion to a wide variety of substrates, including metals, composites, glass, ceramics, and many plastics
  • Broad service temperature range of -40 to 140 °C (-40 to 284 °F)
  • Extreme resistance to water and humidity (allows for submersion where needed)
  • Solvent-free

This product is ideal for applications requiring high clarity. Once fully cured, the epoxy will not yellow when exposed to UV light. The cured resin remains clear at temperatures up to 65 °C, with intermittent exposures up to 100 °C. It finds use in underwater applications such as lights for swimming pools or other water light features.

LED lighting is a key market for clear resins as the cured epoxy does not yellow or blue shift the light. Users apply the clear epoxy over the LED domes that seals out moisture preventing fogging or shorts. Some circuits may require constant monitoring, making the 832WC a good choice.

The epoxy contains no filler, optimizing not just the flow but also insulation properties. The cured plastic has a low dielectric constant meaning it does not interfere with incoming signals. This feature makes the 832WC ideal for potting and bonding electronics in telecom and other communication devices.

The 832WC resin cures to a hard, durable finish, ideal for DIY projects like restoring table tops and bar tops. Users can add artistic pigments when mixing the epoxy to give the final product more punch. Casting parts is another large area of interest amongst the DIY community. The resin handles deep pourings to encase collectibles in a crystal-clear finish.

This casting epoxy also provides excellent insulation and protects circuit boards and other electronic devices from static discharge. The rigid compound protects parts from vibration, abrasion, thermal shock, humidity, salt water, fungus, and many harsh chemicals.

The epoxy bonds well to many substrates including plastics, metal, wood and glass without needing a primer. This feature extends the range of projects capable with this resin considering the different surfaces to encase.

This ultra-clear epoxy has a convenient 2:1 volume mix ratio, making it compatible with most dispensing equipment. The 832WC cures at room temperature or elevated temperatures. The epoxy has an extended working time and curing time, so users can mix large volumes of material.
